Are you constantly fatigued, struggle with stubborn weight or simply don’t feel yourself anymore?
Maybe it’s your thyroid that’s to blame!
Working with women struggling with thyroid conditions – oftentimes suffering from Hashimoto’s thyroiditis – here’s some of things that we focus on at our practice:
✅ Run the right lab testing: When you have the right data from advanced functional medicine tests – whether it’s blood tests, the DUTCH test, or genetic tests (to see if you store hormones or if you are metabolizing them properly) – we can cross-reference all these tests to create the optimal program for you!
✅ Ensure you are on the right type and dose of supplemental thyroid hormone: Many times, conventional docs will “blindly” prescribe thyroid meds without the necessary follow-ups to make sure you are on the right type and dosage. We run follow up tests as needed to ensure you get optimal support.
✅ Review your caffeine intake: If you find yourself frequently turning to coffee to boost your energy, then it’s time to check on your thyroid and adrenals… excess caffeine hammers your adrenal glands (the glands that secrete the stress hormone cortisol).
✅ Review your diet: Everyone knows to eat plenty of organic vegetables and some lean protein, but few know about the impact of gluten. Gluten can trigger inflammation which puts your body under a lot of chronic stress. We also check for your nutrient status to identify any deficiencies to correct with either supplements or foods.
✅ Make sure all your supplements are a high-quality and that you are not blindly supplementing (work with your practitioner and take supplements for deficiencies based on your testing)! Random supplementation with low quality pills can do more harm than good, and is oftentimes wasting money.
✅ Do a digestive check! Do you feel like you have a rock in your stomach when you eat protein? It might be due to low stomach acid, something that we routinely check with our patients… in fact, we typically look at your gut health as part of the intake process.
