Doctor, There Is Something Wrong With Me!

I just received three phone calls today from women who were desperately searching for answers to their crazy behaviors and why they don’t feel like themselves.  You may be in the same situation.  Do the following scenarios sound familiar?

  • If you are tired, stressed out, constantly battling weight and with a sex drive that is either gone south or off the planet, there is hope.
  • If you are yelling and screaming at your kids and husband for no apparent reason, there is a reason.
  • If you are in pain during your menstrual cycle so severe that you have to stay home from work, this is NOT normal.

These are only a few of the situations that can arise when a woman’s hormonal system is out of balance.  A woman’s menstrual history is a time of ongoing change…from the moment of menarche through perimenopause and into menopause.  When there is any disharmony in the cycle, there is always an underlying cause.  It is not normal to have severe cramps, heavy bleeding, moodiness and irritability.

When I ask a woman patient about her menstrual history and hear “absolutely normal, no problems,” as I delve a bit deeper I find problems.  “Oh, I had the normal cramps.”  THAT’S NOT NORMAL.  Let me say that again, “menstrual cramps are not a normal part of a woman’s menstrual cycle.”

Many times hormonal imbalance can be helped with lifestyle changes…yes, sounds simple.   We can’t ignore how we live day to day.  We need to pay attention to the foods we eat, the toxins in our environment, the level of stress in our lives, and the importance of adequate, gentle exercise.

It’s important to be an active participant in your own health.  Hopefully, that’s why you are here on our website.  Learn to work with your body’s wisdom…and let me assure you, your body is much smarter and wiser than you may think.

Being a woman is more than having breasts and a uterus and ovaries.  The feminine qualities of nurturing, compassion, wisdom and understanding add to what it means to be fully human and fully spiritual.  Being a woman means bringing your intuition to the forefront so problems can be solved in a humane, holistic manner.  We need you to IGNITE YOUR LIFE and bring your self forth as the creative genius that you really are.  This is what our intention is…to give you the understanding and tools to transform your life.
