Doesn’t it seem like there is an epidemic of dysfunctional brains? Everywhere we turn, we are hearing more and more about the dramatic increase in depression, kids and adults with trouble concentrating and focusing, an escalation in children with autism, and the heartache of our returning soldiers with symptoms of head injuries, and posttraumatic stress syndrome. Is there help for this “broken brain syndrome?” Yes, there is! Why? Because of something called neuroplasticity: the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. That means the brain can heal itself with the right kind of therapy.
At Healing Unleashed®, LLC we have introduced an amazing therapy to our healing center to “fix your brain.” It’s called neurofeedback (EEG biofeedback). We use a computerized program called “Neuropathways”, developed by Dr. Margaret Ayers. Using this training method can help people learn to inhibit abnormal brain waves, thus taking advantage of brain plasticity.
We have successfully worked with adults and children. A 16-year-old girl with depression, anxiety and trouble concentrating at school just made the best grades ever in her life. She is more relaxed, happy and free of depression. A 10-year-old girl, adopted at 2 years of age, was suffering from “rage attacks” that lasted for 2 hours. After her initial evaluation we discovered she was having temporal lobe seizures (which explained her rage). Now after 6 months of neurofeedback training she is sleeping through the night, able to handle stresses much better, and is socializing better at school. A 21-year-old young man with symptoms of ADD is now enrolling in college, feeling more confident and able to think more clearly. A 55-year-old woman with depression and anxiety/panic attacks is now calmer, less agitated and able to sleep through the night without disturbing panic attacks.
Neurofeedback is a wonderful, safe, non-invasive technique that can restore balance in the brain. Please call Healing Unleashed® at 303-986-0492 to receive a free DVD about this program.
