Dr. Joan Sloss came into this life to study, appreciate and work with the human body. Joan was an energetic kid who loved to skate, bike, and run. Not surprisingly, she ended up dancing and choreographing professionally for 20 years in several modern dance companies.
Joan’s interest in physical rehab began with re-training dancers to prevent injuries. While in graduate school in Philadelphia, Dr. Joan was recognized by the Governor of the State of Pennsylvania for her pioneering work in movement therapy for older adults. As a professor at The University of Kansas, Joan organized and sponsored Dance/Movement Therapy classes taught by leaders in the field.
Joan loves to practice, and continues to study and deepen her understanding in orthopedic and medical massage, anatomy and kinesiology. There’s nothing Joan loves more than helping other people get out of pain and back into healthy living. She and Dr. Bedinghaus have worked together for many years.
